OUR MAIN TREATMENTS ARE:

ANTI WRINKLE INJECTIONS (WRINKLE RELAXERS)

Anti wrinkle injections, or wrinkle relaxers, are widely used treatments that involve the safe injection of small amounts of the botulinum toxin. The injected botulinum toxin is what is known as a neuromodulator. It is injected using an ultra-fine needle.

The toxin, which is rated safe to use, blocks the nerves signals that are needed for the muscles in your face to contract. It is the repetitious contraction of these facial muscles that leads to the expression wrinkles and fine lines on your face.

Once it has been injected, the neuromodulator will relax the muscles and decrease their movement in order to reduce the appearance of wrinkles or lines in the targeted area.

The results will be a reduction in the visibility of the dynamic wrinkles that are seen when you smile, laugh, frown or otherwise make facial expressions. Patients often see crow’s feet, frown lines between the eyebrows and other wrinkles greatly reduced.

The injections can provide remarkable results, without altering your facial structure. You will still look like yourself, but with fewer visible wrinkles when you speak, laugh or frown.

Areas that can benefit from anti wrinkle injections include.

  • Crow’s feet around the eye areas
  • Frown lines between the eyebrows
  • Bunny lines, which are the lines that can extend out from the sides of the nose when you smile or laugh
  • Downturned or drooping mouth corners
  • Smokers lines

What can you expect from your procedure? It’s important to note that we place a premium on your comfort at all times. Be transparent with us during your consultation. Speak about your medical history and any medications or supplements that you might be taking now. If you are a smoker or have had and previous respiratory concerns, be sure to mention it. Be upfront about any allergies that you have and whether you’ve had an allergic reaction to any type of medication or skincare product in the past.

Start prepping for your procedure at least a week in advance. If you are taking any types of medications or supplements that thin your blood, it’s suggested that you stop taking them prior to your appointment. This will minimise bruising from the injections.

Some of the medications and supplements that you should avoid prior to your wrinkle relaxer injections include the following.

  • Ibuprofen
  • Aspirin
  • Fish oils
  • John’s Wort
  • Gingko Biloba
  • Ginseng

Before you stop taking any prescribed medications, be sure to get the all-clear from your prescribing doctor. You may also want to avoid alcohol for a day or two prior to your appointment. This will help to minimise the appearance of bruises from the injections, and can help to speed up your recovery from this non-invasive procedure.

Side effects from wrinkle relaxer injections are rare, but they are possible. Precise placement of the injections will help to minimise the risks of side effects. Some minor redness, swelling and bruising is very possible after getting the injections. These side effects typically go away within 24 hours of your treatment.

Avoid physical activity for at least 24 hours after getting your anti wrinkle injections. There’s an increased risk of injury to your face when you work out or play sports. Protecting your fast after any type of treatment is important. Otherwise you could be risking increased bruising.

Alcohol and many over-the-counter pain relievers have the similar effect of thinning the blood. While this typically isn’t a concern, after getting anti wrinkle injections, this can potentially worsen the bruising that may be possible. While not every patient will experience bruising, it’s not an uncommon occurrence. Avoiding making the bruising worse will go a long way towards helping your recovery.

Results are gradually noticeable within 5-7 days after getting the treatment. Your results may vary, but most patients see their results lasting for up to 6 months after their first treatment. Anti wrinkle injections are popular amongst men and women. Those who have spent more time outdoors may find that they can benefit from everything that these wrinkle reducer injections can offer.

DERMAL FILLER INJECTIONS

As we age, we naturally lose some of that youthful plumpness that left us looking fresh faced no matter the time of the day. This loss of the underlying supportive tissue can result in the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. Replacing some of this lost volume can help to restore that youthful plump look and leave you looking refreshed and alert.

Dermal fillers can offer a non-invasive solution to keep you looking refreshed and still masculine. We offer a conservative approach tailored to your cosmetic needs. Fillers can enhance your facial contours, your jawline and your chin. Dermal fillers can also improve the appearance of tired eyes, dark circles or bags under your eyes. Improvements can also be seen in static wrinkles, and wrinkles caused by sun damage, smoking or simply genetics.

Just what are dermal fillers and how do they work? The goal of injected fillers is to restore lost volume or contour facial structure. Fillers can smooth out lines and soften creases on your face, and it can also help to enhance facial features such as your chin, jawline or cheeks. There are a number of types of dermal fillers. Hyaluronic acid is the most popular choice in filler.

Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a naturally-occurring substance produced by the body. The primary role of HA is to boost moisture levels. It also helps to retain collagen and boost elasticity and flexibility. Broadly speaking, hyaluronic acid is a sugar molecule that attracts and binds water, to keep the skin hydrated and full of the plump volume you’re looking for.

When injected, hyaluronic dermal fillers can fill out your wrinkles, skin creases and folds and replace the lost volume.

Areas that can benefit from dermal fillers include the following.

  • Deep creases that run from the nose to the mouth, known as smile lines
  • Lips that could benefit from a plump boost
  • Vertical lines around the edges of the lips
  • Deep wrinkles on the forehead or between the eyebrows
  • Cheeks, jawline and chin

Prior to getting your dermal filler injections, you should discuss your realistic goals with us so that you are aware of the limitations and benefits of this non-invasive treatment. Dermal fillers, just like wrinkle-relaxers, are very effective as reducing the appearance of wrinkles but they are not as permanent of a solution as surgical options are. The results can last for anywhere from 8-24 months, or longer in some patients. Maintenance injections will be necessary to keep your look fresh and youthful.

Dermal fillers are very safe. That said, with any procedure there is the potential for minor risks. The majority of side effects associated with dermal fillers will occur within a few hours or days of the injection. Most will go away within two weeks. Swelling and some redness is possible. Bruising and tenderness are sometimes see, along with itching and rash. Much rarer is the potential for an allergic reaction, infection or raised bumps just under the skin. Prior to your dermal fillers appointment, the potential for risks will be discussed with you in depth.

The results from your dermal fillers can typically last for twelve to twenty four months on average, based upon how fast your body metabolises the injected filler. If you find that you don’t like the results of your dermal fillers, you’ll learn that you can get the fillers reduced. The fillers can be reversed if you are unhappy with them, with an injection of hyaluronidase.

Most patients find that they simply need to wait for the swelling to go down after the initial injections, and they are happy with the results that they get. It is important to keep in mind that the swelling will settle within a day or two of the injections. Some of the injected volume will also settle down after a few days. Your final results will be much more visible within a week of your procedure.

Dermal fillers are most often associated with women and lip plumping. The truth is that there are a number of cosmetic benefits for men who are interested in refreshing their look with dermal fillers, including plump lips.
